After my studies in human medicine, I was trained in the field of surgery at the Surgical Clinic of the University of Cologne and graduated in 1994. In 1995, I was licensed as a specialist in the field of vascular surgery. I obtained my postdoctoral qualification for the field of surgery in 1996 and passed the examination in the field of visceral surgery in 2000. During my training, I was in the USA, England and Switzerland a number of times for the purpose of study and advanced training. I was subsequently the head of the Surgical Clinic at the Frechen Hospital for over 3 years. During this period, I was also appointed to the APL Professorship for Surgery at the University of Cologne. I have worked at the Mediapark 4D in Cologne since 2006. If stationary treatment is necessary, I take care of patients at the Weyertal Lutheran Hospital in Cologne.
