This description is intended to portray our spectrum of vascular therapy. We would particularly like to emphasise the interdisciplinary character of the internal-medicine, intervention-radiological and surgical care in our department.
Vascular surgery serves purposes such as the prevention of strokes or treatment of arterial occlusions (intermittent claudication) and aneurysms (bulging of the abdominal aorta or the vessels of the limbs). Here as well, modern procedures of micro-invasive (keyhole) technology can be employed in cooperation with the department of radiology. The machine-aided diagnosis takes place in our facilities with state-of-the-art apparatus generations of sonography, the gentle MRI scanner and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA), the intra-arterial angiography and computer tomography.
